The Flood & A Cherry Pie

It had been raining non-stop at the end of last week and one of the nearby rivers flooded several feet over! I guess the flooding was so crazy that even schools were closed (via Ashley). Here's a river in my town:

The River Cometh!

On a happier note, I baked a very delish cherry pie, which is my favorite kind! It looks very pretty doesn't it? Thank god for Pillsbury roll-out pie crusts or it would have probably looked terrible. :P It only took me about five or so minutes to actually prepare the pie for the oven, so that's a plus!

Cherry Pie!

I love that pie plate too. It's made of heavy ceramic in red and beige. I bought it at Kohl's but I think it was made by Food Network. They had a lot of matching bakeware to go with it so I may have to go back soon!

Wow!!! Some rivers have flooded here as well but I don’t understand because the rainfall in my area wasn’t that bad.

That pie looks good, but as someone who has never been through flooding, I have to wonder: how can you bake when you’re getting flooded?!? :P

    *hands Nanda a virtual slice*

I’m sure it’s been devoured by now!

I actually have half left…want some? XD

How can you bake when you’re getting flooded?!?

Haha! Well, it was really only that river that had overflowed. As far as I know it didn’t get majorly crazy enough to wipe out any houses.

And I’ll be honest…I had actually baked that pie a few days earlier but just never posted the photo until now. :3

Wow! Your website is like a big girl website now! It really seems much bigger with all the new features than it did a moment ago.

My website might go down in a few days. IF it does, I might change my domain name, or keep it. Either way, I’ll let you know! lol I’m backing up my database right now too. ^_^

Woot! :D But no worries, I can’t bake either. That’s why I looooved discovering those roll-on crusts. :goodie: Just roll one, add filling, roll second and bake! Voila, Betty Crocker bragging-rights! :cheer:
