If you've been following my site updates on Twitter then you will already know that I've been feverishly working on a new theme for this place! It is going to be very similar in design (like same color scheme and layout) but will have lots of shiner features. :cheer: I am currently referring to it as my "temp theme", because it really is only temporary until I switch to my new domain! :D
Speaking of that, for those who are curious...no, it's not time for melly.me yet, sorry! That site will take a lot more time to get up and running, as there is no way I'm going to rush it! I will start on that as soon as I finish this temp theme, but do not expect to see it go live anytime before the summer. It will be amazing and so very worth the wait, I promise. :)
So, for now, bear with me a few more days while this site goes in and out of "maintenance mode", hehe! :D Follow guitarangelnet on Twitter to stay updated!

March 19th, 2009 at 8:38pmI'm surprised you actually use the Maintenance Mode plugin! Perhaps it's your preference, but personally, I think it's really neat to be able to develop on your computer instead of on the net. I use something called WampServer when I want to test something with a theme or a new version of WordPress. That way, it acts pretty effectively as a canvas and a backup copy without me ever having to take my site down! Not only that, but if the live site should go down, I have that to play with. The program was featured on the WordPress dashboard at some point, and I haven't looked back since. I can always send the link to you if you should be interested in exploring that alternative. Anyway, I'm really excited to see what you'll come up with! I can't wait! Keep up the good work.

March 20th, 2009 at 5:26amOh yeah, I previously used the XAMPP to develop things. But the main reason I think I use the MM plugin is because I'm doing a lot of editing of my content, permalink structure, and other plugins as well. If it were just a theme change alone, I would definitely be opting more for a local server environment because, I do agree, being able to develop directly on your computer instead of a live site is a better alternative. :D
I will definitely be using a dev server for melly.me though! That site will need to be developed that way! XD

March 26th, 2009 at 10:12amHehe those "tests" are actually to test the nested comment reply feature that WP 2.7 has now! It will be implemented in my new theme. :D
