It had been raining non-stop at the end of last week and one of the nearby rivers flooded several feet over! I guess the flooding was so crazy that even schools were closed (via Ashley). Here's a river in my town:
On a happier note, I baked a very delish cherry pie, which is my favorite kind! It looks very pretty doesn't it? Thank god for Pillsbury roll-out pie crusts or it would have probably looked terrible. :P It only took me about five or so minutes to actually prepare the pie for the oven, so that's a plus!
I love that pie plate too. It's made of heavy ceramic in red and beige. I bought it at Kohl's but I think it was made by Food Network. They had a lot of matching bakeware to go with it so I may have to go back soon!

April 6th, 2008 at 10:57amThat pie looks good, but as someone who has never been through flooding, I have to wonder: how can you bake when you're getting flooded?!? :P

April 6th, 2008 at 11:12am*hands Nanda a virtual slice*
I actually have half left...want some? XD
Haha! Well, it was really only that river that had overflowed. As far as I know it didn't get majorly crazy enough to wipe out any houses.
And I'll be honest...I had actually baked that pie a few days earlier but just never posted the photo until now. :3

Woot! :D But no worries, I can't bake either. That's why I looooved discovering those roll-on crusts. :goodie: Just roll one, add filling, roll second and bake! Voila, Betty Crocker bragging-rights! :cheer:
